Teacher at Sea Program 2005 The July 2005 ECOHAB-PNW cruise was fortunate to have Denis Costello as a teacher at sea sponsored by the NSF-funded While onboard the cruise, Denis was an integral part of the science team, assisting with onboard incubation experiments, sample collection, chlorophyll and nutrient analyses. Denis was the avid cruise photographer and kept a journal of shipboard experiences. Armada Project. Denis is the head of the Marine Sciences Department and teaches Chemistry and Marine Science at North High School in Torrance, California. Through his research experience on the ECOHAB-PNW cruise this summer and SEEDS-II cruise last summer in the North Pacific, he will become an Armada 
master teacher able to mentor colleagues in his home district who are new to teaching science, particularly marine science.
